Letter From the Editor 4/17

This week, the final lap of the year, and high school for some, commences as we begin to recognize the work we have done this school year. However, as the year seemingly comes to an end, the feeling of finality only makes the urge to put in minimal effort that much stronger. Especially for seniors, it is easy to give in to senioritis and struggle to focus on the end of the year. I decided to put together a short list of tips to help us all push through AP exams, final projects, and semester tests.

  1. Keep an Organized Schedule to Stay on Top of Assignments - As due dates approach, it only becomes more of a burden to complete an assignment as other work piles up, and time runs short. In order to avoid this pressure, get work done early to eliminate stress!

  1. Create a Beneficial Study System - When studying for a big test, find a method that helps you work at your most productive. Whether that be studying for an hour before taking a 30 minute break, rewarding yourself when you master a concept, or simply studying in a conducive environment, a good study plan can make all the difference in keeping yourself motivated.

  1. Set Something to Look Forward to - Throughout your hard work, remember what you’re working towards, and let it motivate you to do the best work you can. Think about something you’re excited for in the upcoming months, such as graduation, a fun senior trip, or college move-in, and how rewarding it will be to reach that moment after working so hard!

  1. Focus on the Now - While still being able to look forward to what is to come, soak in these last few months, and cherish the time you have. Live out the end of your time at VHHS to the best of your ability, and finish strong!

Happy Reading,
