Homecoming is approaching soon–maybe too soon. Whether you’re going with a date, or with your closest friends, you need to fuel yourself for a long night of partying and dancing to celebrate school spirit and our football team. That begs the question: What are the best places to eat? Whether it’s a sit-down restaurant, or it’s a snappy grab-and-go, everyone has their own taste and opinions, but these places have been voted as the most popular:
Vestavia Country Club
This was by far the most popular place to go. Not only do they serve delicious food, they also have an amazing view. The beautiful sunset sitting on rolling golf courses makes for a picture-perfect background. There is no worry about having to drive to two separate places for food and pictures if you dine at the Vestavia Country Club.

Fun fact: Hibachi means “fire bowl” in Japanese. Most hibachi places feature griddle cooks who prepare food in front of the customers. It’s an impressive form of entertainment while waiting for food. Hibachi definitely lets your eyes eat before your stomach does. Some Hibachi places near the Vestavia Hills area are Fuji Hibachi Express and Samurai Japan.

Village Tavern (Summit)
They have a variety of different meal options, friendly staff, and a great ambiance. Village Tavern also offers outdoor seating, allowing guests to enjoy the comforting evening breeze. How romantic!

Catering
If you plan on having dinner with a large group of friends, catering has been a popular option since It’s less time consuming to order and eat. Catering also cuts time since splitting checks in a large group can take a while and delay plans. Elizabeth Caballero comments that she’d prefer to eat at home “so you can have what you want and whatever you want.” Taziki's and Moe's Southwest Grill both offer catering for you and your friends.

Fast Food
Sometimes, you just need to get something in your system, and fast. Sit-down restaurants aren’t your only option. Chick-fil-A, McDonald's (this was actually recommended to me on a survey), or a midnight Waffle House run can all hit the spot without missing a beat! No one said that homecoming dinners had to be fancy.
At the end of the day, there’s no single right place to eat for homecoming. It’s all up to your group’s style, budget, and vibe. So, start the night off with good food, and even better company. Happy Homecoming!
