Letter From The Editor 5/14

Hello everyone! 

As I reflect on being Editor-in-Chief of Vestavia Pillar for the 2024-25 school year, I want to thank our team for pouring in time and dedication to every article. Our team is full of talented and passionate writers who express their ideas and values through Pillar. I am very grateful for our staff! 

Now, I also want to give a big thanks to our editorial board. They spent their Sundays before drops editing their assigned articles. They have served as excellent examples for the rest of our staff this school year! This year’s editorial board included Ethan Melenevsky as News Editor, Angela Zhang as Student Life Editor, Greta Christiansen as Opinion Editor, and Jaymin Bae as Junior Editor! I am very thankful for their support! 

Lastly, I want to thank our sponsor, Madame Harlan! She has graciously allowed us to hold meetings in her classroom and helped me with logistics this year. Her support does not go unnoticed! We are very thankful for her! 

This year, Pillar published 119 articles! I want to thank all our readers this year! It’s been such an honor serving as Editor-in-Chief of Vestavia Pillar this year! 

As I look ahead, Pillar is in good hands! Our next Editor-in-Chief is Eric Wang! He has written many informative and eye-opening articles this year, and I am ready to pass this role to him! Here are a few words from him! 

Hi everyone! I’m Eric Wang and I’ll be Pillar’s Editor-in-Chief for the upcoming school year! I’ve had a lot of fun being a writer, and I am super excited! I’ll see you this fall!
